Everything about syncing iCloud Photos to Google Drive with AlbumFlow. Billing questions live on the pricing page.

The basics

It copies the videos and photos in your iCloud Photos library into Google Drive, automatically and on a schedule, and keeps the copy up to date so you can share clips with a Drive link. One-way: iCloud is the source, Google Drive is the copy.

No. Every clip is copied as the original file your iPhone recorded: 4K, HEVC, slow-motion, ProRes, whatever you shot. Nothing is re-encoded or compressed, and Drive keeps it as is.

No. We only read from iCloud. Photos are never deleted, edited or reorganised on the Apple side, whatever happens in Google Drive.

By album. Every iCloud album becomes a folder with the same name inside the Drive folder you choose, so the copy is already sorted.

Yes. Under "Only some albums" you name them exactly or with a pattern like "Work - *". Each sync targets its own Drive folder, so you can send work albums to a Shared Drive and family albums to My Drive.

Not yet. The copy is organised by album, so a photo appears in Drive once it is in at least one album. Whole-library sync including loose photos is on the roadmap.

They come along. Everything in an album is mirrored at original quality: videos, photos, screenshots, and the video half of a Live Photo.

Setup and requirements

No. Everything runs in the cloud and is managed from a web dashboard. There is nothing to install on your phone or computer.

Two settings on your Apple account: Advanced Data Protection must be off, and "Access iCloud Data on the Web" must be on. Both are Apple defaults. Two-factor authentication is fully supported; it is how you approve the connection.

Apple trusts a sign-in for roughly two months. Before yours expires we email you and the dashboard shows a reminder. Reconnecting takes one code and about a minute.

Yes. Workflows can target folders in your My Drive or in a Shared Drive you have access to.

Security and privacy

Your iCloud password and Google tokens are encrypted at rest with a server-side master key. They are used only to run your syncs and are deleted when you disconnect an account.

No. Files stream from iCloud to Google Drive and leave our servers the moment each upload completes. We store metadata about runs (file names and counts), not photos.

Yes, one click per account on the Connections page. Disconnecting stops syncing immediately; everything already in Google Drive stays where it is.

Sync behaviour

Every 6 hours on Starter, every hour on Pro. You can also start a sync from the dashboard whenever you like.

Your choice per workflow. With mirrored deletions on, the Drive copy follows the album exactly. With it off, Drive keeps everything ever synced. Safety ratios block abnormally large deletions either way.

File lists are compared before any transfer, so only new files move. The first run of a large album takes a while, bounded by Apple download speeds; every run after that is fast.

A renamed album is treated as new and mirrored to a new Drive folder on the next run. The old folder stays in Drive for you to keep or delete.
